Greetings!
After a four-month long hiatus, I am back in the saddle and writing once again. I have moved jobs, took on a second job, and I am currently on summer break. I shut down the blog for a while, because I honestly couldn’t keep track of comments, views, posts, etc. while trying to balance teaching and interviewing at the same time. That cost me daily views and engagement, but my mental health is more important than fretting over a literary blog (sorry if that sounds callous, but it’s something I grapple with often).
Regardless, I am probably currently camping (or heading home), so I hope you have a terrific rest of your weekend, and I also hope that you visit the blog this week as we continue exploring Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Last Week
I started, funnily enough, this week on a Sunday by analyzing the impact that the term โCibolaโ had on Stephen King’s The Stand. I then went back to some earlier terminology (bildungsroman) to explore King’s novel Fairy Tale. Fair warning, Stephen King is comfort food for me, and I read and listened to a great deal of his writing over the last four months, so expect a variety of posts addressing his writing in the near future.
Continuing, I tackled the pros and cons of AI in writing and looked at the idea of futility in a couple of notable author’s works. Lastly, I posted about some new Greek Mythology texts I bought, defined urtext, and shared a poem that I wrote about love through the seasons.
