Greetings!
It’s been another one of those weeks where everything has coming screaming at me at once. Currently, I am looking to substitute teach closer to home after relinquishing my position elsewhere. Writing as a whole is a nomadic career. If you have experience in the field then you know the types and quantity of jobs you will go through writing various texts and content.
In this case, I want to get closer to my goal as a teacher without having to travel 100 miles.
Regardless, today on the blog, we are going to look at last week’s content and what we learned, and then we are going to look toward next week to see what is ahead!
Last Week
To begin, we started the week by reading the rest of The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury. The story has come to a close and certain revelations were revealed, such as Moundshroud’s identity (he was Death the whole time!), and Pipkin’s well-being, which actually turned out okay, as he went to the hospital just in time to be saved.
Furthermore, we looked at Death as a person and his relation to literature; at least, his depiction in literature as an individual. Additionally, I published a Subscriber Poster that listed horror-themed posts published on the blog since the start. Moreover, we looked at Ray Bradbury’s writing style and how to emulate his style in your own writing.
Continuing, we analyzed the theme of death in poetry, which looked at a few different poems and how writers convey the feeling of death through verse. Next, we read about Wilder Girls by Rory Power, and I gave my impressions of the book even though I have yet to read it yet.
Lastly, we read about Scary Stories 3: More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. In the post, I looked at the style and conventions of the book and which stories were notable reads.
