โI don’t know whether you can look at your past and find, woven like the hidden symbols on a treasure map, the path that will point to your final destination.โ โย Handle with Care | Jodi Picoult
Greetings! This week was a far more even week of posting, which is nice, and next week should be considerably even as well. We are finishing The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy, and we will look at some final posts about the Romance genre and swashbuckling action.
Last Week
We began the week withย chapters 17-24 ofย The Scarlet Pimpernel, and discovered more about Marguerite’s mission to save her husband. She travels from England to France to find him, only to be left in a loft overseeing a meeting between Chauvelin and Sir Percy.
Following, we reviewed and analyzed The Scarlet Pimpernel film staring Richard E. Grant and Elizabeth McGovern. More so, we examined suspense in writing and how to use it in your own writing. We also celebrated Thanksgiving on the blog, and defined heroism in the context of AE’s poem “The Last Hero.” Lastly, we looked at the sequel to Alexandre Dumas’s The Three Musketeers, which appeared in print as 20 Years After.
