Reflections: July 9th, 2023

Greetings, and happy Sunday!

I am always trying to write more for the blog (lament!), but thatโ€™s not always possible. As of late, I am trying to set up a few days a week where I can write and post quickly while also passing along meaningful knowledge. Thatโ€™s not always easy to do with a hectic life.

Todayโ€™s Reflections post will take the place of my previous Last Week, This Week posts. Those particular posts describe the previous weekโ€™s writings and look ahead to next weekโ€™s writings. I think I would like to stay in that tradition because it allows me to plan ahead and enjoy my coffee at the same time.

Last week

Last week we looked at a few things related to Mark Twainโ€™s A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurโ€™s Court. As it stands, I intend to do a chapter-by-chapter analysis of the book over the next month or so for the blog. As such, we learned about the background of the book itself and why it  was written. At least, what the book was a response to during the Gilded Age.

Similarly, we also learned about T. A. Barrronโ€™s The Lost Years books, which detail Merlinโ€™s early adventures before he became the legendary wizard. I enjoyed writing that first post, so I think I am going to continue writing those for the foreseeable future.

Next week

For this coming week, we are going to analyze the first chapter of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurโ€™s Court by Mark Twain. As it is the first chapter, we will become familiar with the protagonist and how he ended up in the court of King Arthur.

Additionally, we are going to look at a Word of the Week, which will relate to the text either directly or indirectly.

Lastly, we will learn about another book on my shelf that I have not read but would like to read.

Enjoy your Sunday, and I hope you read along with us this week!

Canโ€™t say Iโ€™ve read the book but good to have a clear outline โ€ฆ

      Thank for the comment!

Part of me wants to inform people about books, even if I haven’t read them, and another part of me wants the outline for when I actually sit down to read it.

Very good motives there. Canโ€™t argue with that !
