Greetings, and happy Sunday!
Today we are going to look at last week’s posts and then look ahead at what is in store for next week!
Last week
Last week we looked at Chapter 2 of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. We found ourselves with Hank in the in Court of King Arthur. We learned that Hank is coming to grips with his new reality, and he realizes that the Court is a strange place (a sham!).
We also looked at our Word of the Week, which was “Eclipse,” which relates to the novel through future implications.
Moreover, we summarized and analyzed The Island of the Blue Dolphins, wherein a character was left alone to survive in a new (ish) world in which they were expected to survive (much like Hank).
Next week
For the coming week, we are going to look at Chapter 3 of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. Hank is introduced to the Court Magician, Merlin. In this chapter, we find Hank breaking down society from his own perspective (and therefore Mark Twain’s perspective), and he finds liars amongst the throne.
In addition, we will look at our Word of the Week, in which we describe a wizard in detail.
Lastly, we will look at a book about wizards as it relates to my own literacy journey and the modern appeal of magic and wonder.
I hope you join us this week, and I look forward to sharing new knowledge with you!
