Greetings and happy Sunday!
Today we are looking at last week’s posts, and then we are going to look ahead at what is in store for next week!
Last week
Last week we analyzed the first chapter of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. We learned a little more about Hank Morgan and his naivete; but, we also learned more about the setting, which is in the medieval (slightly fantastical) land of Camelot.
We also looked at the word of the week, which was โpeasant.” Hank Morgan runs into a variety of peasants and serfs just outside of Camelot, and he is convinced the people are truly miserable creatures in both appearance and disposition. Peasant, as it was defined, explains the world of the serf, which is one of rural and agricultural means.
Moreover, we looked at a book on my bookshelf that I have yet to read titled The Voices of Serial Killers: The World’s Most Maniacal Murderers in their Own Words by Christopher Berry-Dee. I started reading it after writing about it, and I think I may end up finishing it this week.
Next week
This coming week, we are going to look at chapter two of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. Our protagonist learns more about his predicament, and (sort of) comes up with a plan…or at least the inkling strikes him.
We are also going to define another word of the week that explains a lunar occurrence that has great relevance to the plot of Mark Twain’s book. In keeping with a theme for weekly posts, I am trying to tie the words to our overall goal.
Additionally, I am going to pull another text from my shelf that I have yet to read and share the outline and impressions with you! For this coming week, I am going to try to find a book that fits more in line with the novel we are studying.
Enjoy your Sunday, and I hope you join me on the blog this week!
