Are the Fear Street books worth reading?

That’s a legitimate question, because I do not know the answer to that question.

Growing up, I read every Goosebumps book I could possibly get my hands on (as a lot of my friends did), and as a middle school ELA teacher, I’ve noticed that my 6th graders love reading them, too. However, they seem to be apprehensive about Fear Street, even though there is a new show that many of them have told me is scary and worth checking out.

So, my question for you, friends, is this: Are the Fear Street books worth reading for a middle school audience?

I appreciate any and all help answering this question!
